We arrived in Hiroshima. After a short bus ride from the Shinkansen
station, we are now in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. We have been
greeted by brisk winds caused by the typhoon but no rain. We are going to
give 1000 cranes to the peace monument.

We are now on our Shinkansen heading for Hiroshima, it looks like it we
will be going towards typhoon 11 head on. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
The students seem really relaxed and are enjoying the train ride as they
read books, play cards, and chat the train ride away.

We had hit a little traffic this morning. We are now at Shin Osaka waiting
to get on our Shinkansen. We will have a quick breakfast before getting on
our Shinkansen. The students are so well behaved while waiting for our
train.

今日は人権参観と学級懇談会を実施しました。
人権参観を実施するのも３年ぶりとなります。
全学級が人権をテーマにした授業を参観していただきました。
自分や周りの人のことを考える授業や過去や現在の人権的な事象を取り上げて考える授業を公開しました。
日々の教育活動の中で人権感覚を豊かにしていくことも大切ですが、４５分間人権をテーマに学習することも重要です。各家庭でも今日の学習について話していただけたらと思います。

今日から９月のスタートです。
あいにくの雨模様で、学習園のひまわりも下を向いていました。
今日は３年生が、カルビー出前授業を受けました。
お菓子の選び方や栄養について教えていただきました。
資料や説明がわかりやすく、楽しいお菓子の食べ方について学ぶことができました。

6年生では生き物どうしの関わりを調べています。
今回は池小にある池の底に住む微生物を観察しました。
顕微鏡の使い方を復習し、手順に沿って慎重に観察を進めていました。池の微生物にはなかなか見た目のインパクトが強いものも存在し、子どもたちからは驚きの声がたくさん上がっていました。
ライオンがシマウマを捕食するなどの『食うー食われる』の関係は認識しやすいですが、普段目にすることのない、小さな世界にもこの関係は存在します。目立つものだけの認識でとどまるのではなく、さまざまな視点を持ってほしいです。
