5年生 5th Grade
This evening, Mr. Ikeda, our mountain guide, gave us some important information about tomorrow’s hike up Mt. Daisen. The hike will take approximately five hours. The trail starts off gradually, but it becomes increasingly challenging as we climb higher.
Mr. Ikeda gave the students some encouraging advice:
“If you lack confidence, come to the front.”
“If you have confidence, let’s cheer your classmates on.”
He also reminded the students about what to wear.
“Wear clothing that makes you feel a little chilly. You will warm up as you hike, and you will be comfortable.”
He also asked everyone to bring a rain jacket for the summit, which can help keep them warm if it is cold or windy.
After the meeting, the students had a short question-and-answer session. They asked some great questions, and Mr. Ikeda answered each one confidently, helping the students feel more confident about tomorrow’s hike.
Next, the hotel staff gave us instructions about preparing our futons. The students learned how to set up their bedding with the sheets, pillow, and comforter.
Finally, Ms. Nagao went over the preparations for tomorrow. She reminded everyone what to bring on the hike, to write their names on their water bottles, what time they will wake up, and what they need to do tonight before going to bed.
Everyone is now getting ready for tomorrow’s big adventure!
