We are now at the Tottori Sand Dunes, which are part of the San’in Kaigan National Park.

After sitting on the bus for a few hours and enjoying a hearty lunch, many of the students are eager to run around and experience the sand dunes firsthand.

There are some rules to follow here, however. The children cannot draw pictures in the sand or make sandcastles!

Japan can be pretty strict about protecting its national parks, but that is also one of the reasons these beautiful places remain so special.
