After a refreshing bath and a great dinner, we gathered for our second big event of the day—the evening campfire!

We began with a recreation of the lighting of the campfire, with our beloved Vice Principal, Mr. Matsumoto, doing the honors.

Then Ms. Nagao and Mr. Hashimoto got everyone involved in a fun Lion vs. Hippopotamus activity.

After that, the performances began!

Class 2 started with a beautiful song, accompanied on the piano by Ms. Sai. They then changed the mood completely with a scary story!

Class 1 followed with several hilarious manzai skits. The class then split into two groups, with the girls performing a dance followed by a dance from the boys.

Class 2 returned to the stage with a combination of singing and dancing, followed by a song that the entire sixth grade sang together.

Finally, it was Class 4’s turn. They performed Moju Gari, a rhythm game that many Japanese students know well. A word is called out, and everyone has to quickly form groups according to the number of letters in the word—all while keeping to the familiar rhythm!

They then finished with a beautiful song accompanied by Mr. Hashimoto’s warm guitar.

And then came the grand finale: Mr. Ohino singing with the entire sixth grade!

What an amazing evening!
